Estate planning for your horse

Do you ever worry about what might happen to your horses should you become incapacitated or worse.  Do you worry if anyone will take care of your horses should you be in an accident.  Will anyone even know you have animals at home that need to be looked after?  This is an idea that was brought up to us by our lawyer as we prepared a will.  Do you have a living trust, pet trust, power of attorney or life insurance with your horse named as beneficiary.  This article gives good information if planning for your horse’s needs should you not be able to is a concern.

  1. we have power of attorney, medical, etc. and all animals are listed and how they are to be handled.
